About Opportunity Hub

Making opportunities accessible, transparent, and fair for all students

Opportunity Hub was created to make access to opportunities clearer, fairer, and more transparent for students navigating higher education and early careers.

Many scholarships, internships, fellowships, and programs exist, but finding them is often overwhelming. Information is scattered, eligibility requirements are unclear, and critical details about immigration status or visa sponsorship are frequently buried or omitted altogether. For international students, undocumented students, DACA recipients, TPS holders, and first generation students, this lack of clarity can mean missing life changing opportunities.

This platform was built to change that.

Opportunity Hub brings opportunities into one public, searchable space and clearly highlights eligibility criteria, including immigration related considerations, using information from official public sources. Our goal is not to decide who qualifies, but to help students quickly understand where they may belong and where to look next.

The platform is open to everyone. No account is required to browse. We do not collect sensitive personal information, and all listings include links to the original source so students can verify details directly.

At its core, Opportunity Hub is about access, dignity, and empowerment. Every student deserves clarity, and every student deserves the chance to explore opportunities with confidence.

Understanding Eligibility Terms

Opportunity listings often use legal or technical language that can be confusing. The explanations below are provided to help users understand commonly used terms when they appear in opportunity descriptions. This information is for general educational purposes only and is not legal advice. Always confirm details on the official opportunity website.

International Student

A student who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and typically studies in the United States on a visa such as F-1.

Visa Sponsorship

Some employers or programs indicate that they are willing to sponsor work visas now or in the future. Visa sponsorship availability varies by organization and role and may be subject to additional requirements.

F-1 OPT or CPT

Optional Practical Training (OPT) and Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are types of work authorization available to some F-1 students. Opportunities that mention OPT or CPT may be accessible to international students studying in the U.S.

DACA Recipient

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) provides temporary protection from deportation and work authorization to certain undocumented individuals who arrived in the U.S. as children.

Undocumented Student

A student who does not have legal immigration status in the United States. Some opportunities explicitly state that undocumented students are eligible.

TPS Holder

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is a temporary immigration status granted to individuals from certain countries due to conditions such as conflict or natural disasters. TPS holders may have work authorization depending on current policies.

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Required

Some opportunities are legally restricted to U.S. citizens or permanent residents. If this requirement is stated, other students may not be eligible.

About the Creator

Hi, I'm Ashley Prado. I'm a Computer Science student, and I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to search for opportunities online. Information is often scattered, eligibility requirements are unclear, and some of the most life changing opportunities are easy to miss simply because they are hard to find.

I also know how powerful the right opportunity can be. A scholarship, fellowship, conference, or program can open doors, build confidence, and change someone's path. That belief is what inspired me to create Opportunity Hub.

This platform was built by students, for students. It is meant to make opportunities easier to find, easier to understand, and accessible to everyone. It is a shared space where students can explore, save, submit, and support one another. We can all help each other move forward ;)
